Magazine Advert Final Piece
This is the final advert design I have produced to advertise the Digipak and album. I have also changed the design just like I did on the Digipak, as The Digipak cover and the Advert need to have the same consistent look in order for them to appear as though they are linked, therefore I used the same Album art of the phoenix as the main image of the Advert.
The whole process of making this Advert was done in Adobe Photoshop where I used the same album art, hand drew the fire, re arranged the title and introduced a scan bar-code and website address for customer curiosity and information on the band and new album.
Digipak Final Piece
Here Is the Final Product I have produced for a Digipak Design. This Digipak has been completely created digitally using Photoshop to draw flames, drawing software to draw the phoenix, feather and title and yet again, using Photoshop to put the whole Digipak design together.
Comparing this to the drafting Ideas I came up with, I have almost totally changed the design.
I started to draw a crow like I originally drafted but decided to have a phoenix as the main image, as it ha a subtle reference to the choice of song for the final music video called Meltdown, a word normally associated with burning anger like fire. Once I had made the decision to have a phoenix I did stick with the feather image on the back of the cover.

Magazine Advert Drafting
This Is The drafting for an advert for my digipak and new album release. The crow is usually a symbol of death and the dark and desaturated colours fit the metal genre and give the whold album a dark feel that reflects the heavy music.
Magazine Advert Research
For a part of my unit 3 media A Level I have decided to create a magazine advert that will be advertising the digipak and new album release of my chosen band and song. I thought it was appropriate that I do some research into magazine ads announcing new releases of digipaks first, as this will allow me to get an understanding of what I will need to include into my own work.
Below are some photos of example adverts that I have found in music magazines.
By looking at other magazine adverts and getting an understanding of their layout and conventions, I have found some inspiration for my own work that will help when it comes to me producing my own piece.
Digipak Drafting
As drafting for my digipak, I printed out a template from the internet to help me create a design.
I wanted to base the digipak design around a dark theme as this links in with the genre of the album, so I drew a crow with bat wings. The drawing of the crow is meant to symbolize this dark theme of genre and also give the viewer a sense of the unknown and the odd. This design is still only a draft and is still being worked upon in order to make it better, so some changes may be made when it comes to producing my final digipak design.

Digipak Reasearch
As preparation or making a digipak I'll need to research about them beforehand so I can get an understanding of what I will need to produce.
What is a Digipak? A digipak is an alternative CD case to the classic jewel cases we all know and love. Digipaks are mostly made from card and use a slide in pocket to insert the CD (but plastic CD trays can be found in certain models), thy often do not include a lyric booklet due to limiting space. They come in a variety of sizes which can mean more than one CD can stored inside.

Rough Cut Feedback
In order to get an understanding of how to improve on our music video, we needed to get some feedback from strangers that we don't know. We showed four people our Rough Cut and gave them feedback sheets for them to fill in while watching. Here are the feedback sheets that were handed in....
... the feedback we received was very helpful and constructive, we shall look at the advise that was given and apply it to our music video to make it better.

Rough Cut
Here is the Rough Cut for our music video. At the moment it is only a small amount of footage that sill needs further editing, but from what we have so far we have been able to create this rough cut that we can get audience feedback from and then see what we can improve upon.

Filming photos and work in progress
We used the studio to film two instrumental shots for our video, which included two of our actors (Kieran and Josh) to play the song all the way through on the guitar and bass. While filming we took some photos of the two playing their instruments. here are the photos we took as work in progress.
